This morning we finally left our ugly hotel in Vancouver, unfortunately not without discussing prices, taxes, and refund claims again. Unfortunately, it cost us another hour. Sad when you experience something like that. Then we drove to the world-famous Canada Place, which turned out to be a pretty boring pier. No idea why it is so highly rated in the travel guide, it reminded me of all the various docks we had visited with our cruise ship AIDA.
Since there was nothing further to see, we got in the car and drove to Horseshoe Bay, where we had booked a ferry at 5 p.m.
Fortunately, we had booked, because the backlog of cars without reservations reached several kilometers back, so we were able to drive past the traffic jam with a smile.
Horseshoe Bay is a small, not particularly remarkable village, consisting mainly of the ferry port and a little fishing.
We had the obligatory fish 'n' chips and took a look around, played with the children in the playground, and then got on the ferry to Vancouver Island.
We could already catch a glimpse of the beautiful rainforest landscape from the ship, but unfortunately, it was quite cloudy and even a little rainy, so we had to spend most of the time on the ship.
Our vacation rental turned out to be a gem, with all the amenities that vacation guests could wish for. Let's see what Vancouver Island is like! More tomorrow.
