Tag 13: Baja - Sombor

ຈັດພີມມາ: 13.05.2024

Immediately after getting up, at around 7:15 a.m., I went to a laundry just around the corner to ask how long it would take to wash and dry the laundry. Using hand gestures (and especially Google Translate), we agreed on 12 p.m. So I had a relaxed breakfast, went to the supermarket and stocked up on bars, gummy bears and drinks. At 10 a.m. I checked out of the hotel and wanted to stop by the laundry to give my number so they could call me as soon as the laundry was ready. But the lady said they would be ready in 10 minutes! They really are super quick and at 10:30 a.m. I was able to set off with my bags of fresh laundry. After about 60 km, I reached the Serbian border, but initially at a border crossing that wasn't open. I therefore had to take quite a detour until I got to the right border crossing (to be honest, Komoot wanted to navigate me there from the start, but I just thought I knew better...). Crossing the border itself was no problem. (I was looked at with some irritation at most, because today, unlike usual, I was wearing my neon green swimming trunks, as the rest of everything was in the laundry and I wanted to change again after picking up my clothes from the laundry.)

So I was in Serbia. Right at the start I had to withdraw Serbian dinars because I could only pay in cash at the bakery where I stopped for lunch. After almost exactly 100km I reached a very nicely laid out campsite. I am sitting on the terrace now and am about to jump into the pool! I would have liked to have driven further, but I couldn't find any other campsite within a 20km radius along the Danube. But because the place is really very nice, it's fine!
