Laborday in Charlotte (5th September)

ຈັດພີມມາ: 15.09.2016

After a longer break, I am finally back. Unfortunately, I have to admit that I didn't have time to do it earlier, because there is a lot going on here every day and we still have some official appointments to take care of. But today on Laborday we had a day off. Laborday is a public holiday in the USA, which means that everything should actually be closed, but there are still a few stores open here. Anyway, today we watched the Labor Day Parade in downtown Charlotte.

Here you can also see my two roommates.

I have to say that I had imagined the whole parade differently. Basically, the parade consisted of 3 different groups that repeated themselves. Group 1: Schools that played music and students who danced a bit, Group 2: Cars, and Group 3: Politicians you should vote for. The parade didn't last long, maybe a maximum of 1-2 hours.

Here are a few impressions:

Group 1: The schools

Group 2: The cars

Group 3: Politicians

Afterwards, we walked a bit in the downtown area and in the afternoon we went back to our pool right around the corner from our house, because unfortunately it still has almost 40°C here every day and it is hardly bearable outside.

In the future, I will only report about my trips on the weekends, because I am not allowed to report anything about school. There is a strict confidentiality obligation, so don't be surprised.
