Villa de Leyva 1.0

ຈັດພີມມາ: 12.08.2016

The journey there: Not as easy as expected...in the Flota. So on Friday afternoon we stood by the road and waited for the right Flota to pass by...for a whole hour. But fortunately Raquel knows how to negotiate and got us half the fare. From Cajica we went to Tunja and from Tunja another hour in the Flota to Villa de Leyva. The long journey was worth it. Villa de Leyva is a beautiful town in the style of the 15th/16th century that we both immediately fell in love with.

Once we arrived, we had to find our hotel. Even though we are not particularly talented at following directions, we managed to find our hotel in less than 2 hours. We discovered the next day while exploring the city that we simply had to walk 5 blocks to the left.
On the first evening, we went to the Plaza Mayor, which is only a few streets away from our hotel. We sat on the steps next to the church with a cool beer and enjoyed the evening atmosphere. Until Greta and Diego arrived...Diego is a guide who offers various adventurous activities and Greta is a small sweet lively girl. Later in the evening, we found ourselves in Diego's office where Lisa learned to dance salsa and I became a babysitter :D. The guides, being open-minded, invited us to go with them to an artist in town, where we made a fire outside under the starry sky, watched shooting stars, and enjoyed the night. Victorio, the artist who owns the little house, is a very interesting person who could tell just by looking at my hands that I play the piano, read a lot, am empathetic, that family and friends are very important to me but I also like being alone, and ultimately came to the conclusion that I have an old soul :D. But well, he also found that I look a lot like his ex-girlfriend, which I can only deny :D.
On Saturday, we had enough time to explore the city and found out, among other things, that we have absolutely the same taste in art. In a side street, we discovered a small shop - 'La Galerie' - and it quickly became clear that we would spend our money here. http://zamor.com/
In the afternoon, Lisa bravely and I eagerly got on horses, rode to the Pozos Azules, and explored the area around Villa de Leyva.
