Volcanoes - need I say more?

There were two volcano climbs to choose from, one with an overnight stay at a base camp and the other in one day. So I scrambled towards Volcano 2 and it was incredibly tiring. It just kept going uphill, through scree and sand, without stopping but luckily in the shade and high enough that it got cooler. And the group's speed was superhuman, to be honest, I have no idea how our guide managed to get up the mountains while basically running, but I thought my lungs were going to burst. By the way, in the middle of it all, a runner overtook us who RUNS the route every day to train for a marathon (: I thought about whether I should crawl any further (: Unfortunately, psychosmiley isn't possible here. But hiking through the cold lava fields, It was a lot of fun, and I also reached into a steam hole where it bubbled a bit! Everything was very quiet at the crater and the fog kept rolling in. That made the whole area seem very mystical.

Yesterday morning I was briefly at a huge market nearby that had everything from fruit to spices, even a huge market hall with second hand clothes. Tomorrow I'll fill my stomach here again and in the evening I'll start my 14 hour journey towards Flores and thus a huge step closer to Belize :)
