We were happy too early because it rained all night again. And breakfast in the camper again, not before. But it got better hour by hour. The area didn't change much. Eucalyptus forests and dry steppes alternating. The most interesting thing is the variety of mailboxes along the highway that belong to the remote farms. Made of plastic barrels, wood, small houses, and even an old microwave. After shopping in the slightly larger city of Rockhampton, we visited the Coorana Crocodile Farm. It was very interesting to learn about the fresh and saltwater crocodiles. The largest one there was 5.20 meters long and 30 years old. We were allowed to hold the slightly smaller species in our arms, it felt very soft and warm.
The vegetarians may forgive us, because it was a farm and they offered crocodile steak to eat, we tried it. The meat is completely white and very tasty. Meanwhile, it was 28°C warm and sunny. That's how we imagined Australia. In Yeppoon, we found a great campsite right by the sea. It was wonderful - a huge wide beach, miles long and deserted. End the evening with the sound of the sea. It gets dark very early, at 6:00 pm it starts to get dark, and at 6:30 pm it's pitch black, then the day is over.
