After observing the wildlife in the national park, we made our way to Ella, located about 1000 meters above sea level, by bus and tuk-tuk. We stayed in the absolutely amazing and trendy Tomorrowland Hostel for two nights in a tent and visited the Secret Waterfalls. Along the way, we encountered a group of monkeys who were not camera-shy at all, as well as a very impressive tree with huge hornet nests.
On the following day, we visited the famous Nine Arches Bridge (train route from Badulla to Ella) and the Little Adam's Peak. Overall, it was more of a leisurely walk, but it was still quite sweaty in the midday heat. Next, we are heading back down to the coast to Arugam Bay.
