We cross the Minho River, which here marks the border between Spain and Portugal. Once again, no one wants to see a passport and nobody is interested in our negative test result. Right at the point where the wide river flows into the sea, we find a nice and peaceful overnight spot next to a forest. We are a bit unsure because wild camping is prohibited in Portugal and high fines are imposed. However, we brazenly spend the night within sight of the Policia Maritima building. The patrol car passes us several times a day and we greet them politely and they greet us back...
Here you can walk on one side along the calm waters of the river and on the other side along the long sandy beach of the Atlantic. It's a few degrees warmer here and in the afternoon we can sit on the beach without a jacket and enjoy the beautiful weather.
