Many may wonder why Sydney or Melbourne is not the capital of Australia, right? The development is actually very interesting.
Since in the early 20th century Sydney and Melbourne could not agree on which should be the capital, it was decided to build a completely new city between the two cities, which would henceforth be the capital of Australia. This was named Canberra in 1913. There is not much history to see in terms of houses, churches or monuments, as the city is still relatively young. The layout of the streets, the lake, the government buildings - everything is carefully thought out and perfectly designed. Everything forms a unity and a perfect shape. We also visited the Parliament House, which is truly representative.
We liked Canberra, but it was completely different from what you would expect from a capital city - Sydney and Melbourne definitely had more to offer.
Now let's move on to pure nature!
