... the many demonstrations that I had the opportunity to witness in Santiago, La Serena, and Antofagasta - from a safe distance. I say "had the opportunity" because the Chileans are rebelling against the system and peacefully gathering on the streets with their families (including many dogs). As evening falls, things naturally escalate - just like they do with us. I remember the May 1st demonstrations or the G7 summit in Hamburg!
That's also why I had no idea when which bus was going where in Santiago. And why most parks were closed.
It's sad that the news only reports the bad things.
At no time did I feel threatened here, the hotels always ensured safety!
I hope the Chileans will not give up and achieve their goals.
If you have any questions, write to me and I'll tell you more.
And at the age of 48, I experienced my first earthquake. Wow, it was a weird feeling, especially since I read about it in the news app the next day.
Why am I writing this today? So that my loved ones didn't have to worry (unnecessarily).
Well, my flight leaves in 4 hours.
