I disembarked at around 8:00 a.m. The first thing I did was go to the nearby market. It's a shame that I'm not allowed to bring most of the products on board, otherwise I would have bought a few things.

After that, I walked through the city without any particular destination. Eventually I came to Napoleon's birthplace, but it was still closed.

A short distance further on I found something more interesting: "La Grotte Napoléon". An audiovisual presentation about Napoleon's life while a meal consisting of Corsican specialties was served. I would attend this.

Since the ticket sales didn't open until 10:00 a.m., I had to wait. A little earlier, they put my name in the guest book for 12:00 p.m.

I shortened the waiting time by enjoying a chestnut beer at a bar with a sea view. Not bad, but not my favorite beer.

Afterwards I continued walking and passed the Museum Fesch, which I wanted to visit later.

I was back at "La Grotte Napoléon" on time and was let in by a "Napoleonic soldier". First we were given an aperitif. I had chosen a sweet sparkling white wine, which I really liked. Then the show started and a short time later the food arrived. I learned about Napoleon's career while enjoying ham, salami, cheese with fig jam and other things. At the end there was a sorbet, which was served in a hat-shaped chocolate shell. The fun wasn't cheap, but it was worth it to me.

The entrance fee to the Fesch Museum was modest and I spent almost two hours there looking at many masterful paintings, often with biblical or mythological references and suitably gory. In a section dedicated to Napoleon, his death mask is on display.

I then went to a supermarket to buy some Corsican chestnut cream and then went back on board.

I listened to the string trio and after dinner I attended Carlo Truzzi's shadow puppet show.

At 9pm the 4th of July party started. I enjoyed a flood of balloons that rained down on us, then I went to bed.
