The flight was delayed by half an hour. I had checked in my suitcase along with my backpack and only had a small bag with me. That's why I'm the very last one on the plane. It's also a great feeling and you don't have to wait in line all the time. The flight was only an hour, but I love just looking out the window, the takeoff, the clouds. There was even a piece of chocolate and a drink on the plane. Really great for a short flight. And the seats were also good for economy and my legs still had a few centimeters of space in front of the seat in front. I had to wait a while for my suitcase. Normally I wanted to take the transfer express shuttle, which I took the first time. He comes every hour, but he just left and should have waited an hour. The journey would have cost 20 soles (5€) and so I let a taxi driver talk to me. He has an official taxi license and his flyer said 60 soles to Miraflores and I told him 40 and then we settled at 50 soles (€12.50). The journey was good and I spoke a little Spanish with the driver. So I was at the hotel around 8 p.m. Really makes a good impression. And the room is clean and I am very happy that I chose a room with air conditioning again. Because even though the sun has already set, you can immediately feel the humid heat here again.
I took a quick shower and then went out again. The hotel is even more central than the first time. I went to the main square and this is Kennedy Park in the district. And since it's Saturday, there's already something going on. I got something to drink and then sat in the park. There was salsa dancing in the park. It was really a good atmosphere, but they all have a good level and when they danced individually as a couple, it was amazing. That intimidated me a little. And in those moments I realize that it would be cooler now if I were there with someone else. I went home after half an hour, partly because I was tired. This is one of the disadvantages of traveling alone. So if I had still had the salsa moves, I would have danced too. But I really have to make sure I go salsa dancing regularly in Cologne. When I got to the hotel I ate something and then went to bed.
Tomorrow after breakfast I'll probably go to Barranco, a district right near here, but before that I'll see what else I'm up to on Monday and Tuesday. Because I want to do something.
Oh yeah: what else I wanted to say. I like it when I travel to a place I've been to at least once. Then everything seems so familiar. I'm looking forward to the last few days here in Lima.
In that sense, see you tomorrow :)
