After our exhausting and strenuous trek, we are staying in a very rustic traditional homestay where we are enjoying a typical hot stone bath and giving our battered legs some rest. We spend nearly an hour in a wooden tub filled with water. The water is heated to a soothing temperature by previously heated stones placed in the tub.
After one last typical dinner with the host family, which we enjoy sitting on the floor (unfortunately, we still haven't mastered the cross-legged posture), we go to bed early this day, as our flight back to Kathmandu is scheduled early the next morning.
Following another impressive flight along the Himalayas, we land in the stuffy, hazy, and bustling Kathmandu early in the morning. A real culture shock for us and our sense of smell, as we had been pampered in the past weeks by the tranquility and serenity of Bhutan as well as its clean and fresh air.
