Brasil - Our conclusion (Fazit)

Originally, Brazil was not on our itinerary, but due to better flight connections, we fortunately had the opportunity to get to know this country a little bit.

Of course, we also noticed a few things that are not quite understandable to us. While we try to avoid plastic as much as possible at home, here we are looked at with big eyes if we don't want to pack our goods, which are already double-wrapped in plastic, in 2 additional plastic bags. But even though all the garbage is directly noticeable here on the streets and in the sea, the awareness has not yet fully arrived. It is also difficult for us to find healthy food without additional fat or sugar when shopping, which is also reflected in society. And vegetarian diet... well... :)

BUT: We also notice many things that we will miss in Germany. These include, among other things, the open approach of young people to politics, which we were able to experience on the streets in Rio on election Sunday (the election result is another matter ;) ). In addition, everything went smoothly on our trip and we always found help when we needed it.

But what impressed us the most are the people. They are warm, open, generous and helpful to each other as well as to strangers. So that despite the lack of language skills, we constantly had pleasant encounters and felt safe and comfortable everywhere.
