It's 6:00 am, time to wake up ☺️
Beautiful weather, the sun is shining. I feel the wet grass under my feet. This is it...living in harmony with nature. I have forgotten how...haven't experienced it often. It's beautiful!
And the journey continues. Today, I want to make it to Nuremberg. After ten minutes back in the saddle, I dream of a cup of coffee... That would be perfect right now. I reach the Greding service station, which I can access from my route. Brilliant! There's a shower🚿... and coffee☕... I'm a lucky person😊
By noon, I arrive in Hilpoltstein. I spend at least two hours in this town. First, a young man falls off his bicycle... luckily, he only has a few scrapes. Then, I go to a gas station to refill my tires. Now, I feel like I have all the time in the world... while talking to Dominic, a friendly young man, there's a loud crash... the beverage truck loses its empty bottles and crates while leaving the gas station onto the road. A huge mess of broken glass and empty bottles are scattered on the road. We help each other... within a few minutes, everything is cleaned up.
Onwards to Nuremberg. Clouds are slowly rolling in. Now, I need to find a place to sleep. Hopefully, I can set up my tent in a dry spot. Nuremberg is a big city... in a park, I pause and have a snack😋 Just as I start riding again, it starts raining. Oh dear... Hopefully, it will stop by the time I find a place to spend the night. But luck is on my side🙏😊 After 75 km today, I set up my camp for the night on the northern outskirts of Nuremberg, in a field behind an old uninhabited house with a large water basin. The frogs provide a concert for me... throughout the night. There's also an airport nearby. Thankfully, it's not busy tonight, but when a plane lands or takes off, it's really loud. I sleep well this night.
