Our caravan handled the first trip well with the new brakes!
But one after anonther!
After our arrival at Tarifa, we basically had a standstill of 16 days. Things couldn't get any quicker with spare parts, processing them and shipping them to Spain. In retrospect, we probably should have checked on site, but the most important thing is always that Palumbi is roadworthy again!
How do I describe Christian's state of mind? Fear, hope, full of doubts as to whether the right thing was really ordered, then again no tracking, the package is stuck in Aschheim, now the package is in Madrid... They were turbulent days for him, because everything depends on his dimensions and Information, everything depends on whether it fits together in the end or can be made to fit. It turned out to be the latter, there was still a small problem, which was then solved by a local workshop. Here's a thank you to the workshop master, who couldn't say no, but also did something for a few tourists before Easter!
Christian did the work on the caravan alone, he's also the one who always fidgets when I step on the brakes. It's not an original part, so your concern can't be completely dismissed...
In the meantime I've seen a lot of Punta Paloma, mostly taken the dogs, cooked, went shopping etc. so that he can hopefully clear his head. It wasn't easy for me, but I had to adapt, even if my mind had been in a different place for a long time. I'm very interested in Portugal, the language, the people, everything!
Now we're on the way there, so the first stage with Palumbi's new brakes has been completed. I hope that Christian is now slowly losing his concerns.
The dogs found Tarifa exciting, they were funny on all the hikes and unfortunately sometimes too open-minded, because we think Nerone had caught something with horse apple. So off to the vet clinic, there he was given antibiotics and then he slowly got better and better, and it wasn't until three days later that he was back to his old self.
I hope that everything works out now, that no wheel rolls away or other things that Christian keeps imagining when it comes to the brakes, because I just want to be able to travel, which hasn't necessarily been possible for four weeks. Overall, we lost some time and some of the goals on our route are no longer necessarily feasible. There are always things that come into focus that will definitely be exciting!
