We will spend Christmas a half an hour away from Ragland at Hakea Reserve, a hippie campground with eco-toilets, 3 hours of electricity per day (because of solar power), and free-roaming rabbits.
We will play lots of badminton and Wizzard, do some painting, jump off cliffs, go slacklining, and of course, enjoy delicious food, dance, laugh, and talk nonsense. We will all have our first surf lesson and go surfing the next day. We will visit a club for Drum and Bass and enjoy a beautiful sunset at the beach.
But on the 29th, we will leave our beloved paradise and head to Mt. Taranaki in New Plymouth. We will go on a small humble hike and during our visit to the swimming pool, Matteo manages to hit his head on the shallow pool (intelligence aside) and ends up with a hole in his head. So we wait 3 hours at the doctor's office while the nurses laugh at him the whole time until the doctor comes for 5 minutes, also laughs at him, and says he had the exact same thing earlier that day...
On New Year's, we will go to a country bar with live music and then to a very bad club. After a lot of drama (which I won't go into detail here ;) we will go home relatively early. (So the 40€ for the taxi were worth it ;)
On January 2nd, the large group will split up and we will head towards Taupo, the heart of the North Island.
