Today we went from Milan to Follonica, where we had booked a week in Golfo del Sole. Since we drove right past Pisa, we made a stop there to visit the city center and, of course, the leaning tower. Again, many tourists were there - and everyone wanted to take the famous photo with the tower before it falls over... Unfortunately, we couldn't go up the tower because access was prohibited for children under 8 years old - the positive side: we saved 18 € per person :-). Instead, we visited the cathedral. But even here, we needed a ticket, even though admission was free... of course, it was still associated with waiting until our ticket slot was reached. Although a bit smaller than Milan Cathedral, it was no less beautiful and impressive. All in all, definitely worth seeing and a worthwhile stopover.
