As our final act, we meet Chris again in the afternoon. We meet at the restaurant where we had our last meal together - this time outside in the sun. Afterward, Chris suggests going to 'The Spit', a peninsula on the river where you can watch kite surfers. The only way to get there is via a gravel road, which we drive slowly. After all, we have to return the rental car tomorrow, and it would be tragic to damage it on the last day after three weeks without any incidents. When we arrive, we are surrounded by the beautiful landscape, and from afar, we can even see the Shannon Falls! This is definitely a hidden gem known only to the locals. Unfortunately, we don't stay there for long because the wind is incredibly strong. We then drive to a small beach by the river, spend some more time there before it's time to leave. It's already late, and we have to drive all the way back to Vancouver. We drop off Chris at home, say goodbye, and head back to Vancouver via the Sea to Sky Highway. On the way, we can still witness a beautiful sunset.
We had a really nice last day in Canada, it couldn't have been better! The weather was perfect, unlike the first two weeks of our trip, and we were able to enjoy the mountains and the beautiful scenery once again, as well as some delicious food. Unfortunately, tomorrow we have to go back to Germany.
The diverse and indescribably beautiful nature of Canada and the friendliness of Canadians definitely make us want to return to this amazing country. However, Canada is also a very expensive country, so one should be prepared for that. But that won't stop us from coming back. We had our ups and downs during our three-week road trip, the weather didn't always cooperate and sometimes threw a wrench in our plans, but we had a wonderful vacation filled with many impressions and experiences. What impressed me the most, though, was simply the breathtaking landscape, which I have to mention again. Simply incomparable. Here, you can truly discover your love for nature.
So, until next time, Canada!
