The morning is raining, but it is supposed to get better. Around midday we give it a try, take our bikes and ride to the nearest village, L'Herbe. The first thing we see is the Chapelle Sainte Marie du Cap. In this village, the oyster fishermen go about their business, there are small fishermen's houses and of course the opportunity to eat oysters. Not quite our cup of tea and we cycle on to Cap Ferret! Dietrich tries to use the paths near the bay, so it sometimes gets a bit adventurously sandy, with big puddles and sometimes even cross-country. Just as it starts to rain heavily and profusely, we reach a restaurant right by the bay and wait for better weather with a coffee.
The route continues more or less in a straight line to the tip of the Pointe du Cap Ferret headland. Here you have a fantastic view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Dune of Pyla.
On the way back we take the well-developed cycle path through the forest (30 km in total).
After a short break, we head back to the sea. In sunny weather, we watch the huge waves!
