Today we have to say goodbye to New Zealand and pack our suitcases. It's good that we planned to leave some things here, like a few old sneakers. This way, we have enough space for all our 'treasures' like shells and stones, and of course all the souvenirs. Once the suitcases are packed, we still have plenty of time to have breakfast at Honeybone. On our second attempt, we manage to get a seat in the sun and enjoy. And on our last day here, we actually get to visit a farmers market. Very nice! We still need to fit one more jar of jam in the suitcase! We'll take that with us.
Just like we discussed on the way here the day before yesterday, the Indian taxi driver arrives on time and takes us to the airport. It's 12:00 and we still have 3 hours left. We check in our large suitcases. They are actually 3 kilos heavier. Many stones!!!!! Then we finish writing the Saturday blog post and stroll through the duty-free shops. We spend our last dollars on real Whittakers chocolate, like 'Hokey Pokey'. Then it's time to get on the plane. And off we go - Goodbye New Zealand. It's great that we're flying during the day on the return flight and the clouds keep clearing up. This way, we can see Australia from above. We even catch a bit of sunset despite the wings. We reach Singapore after 11 hours at 20:55 local time.
