Day 29 and 30 - Ho Chi Minh

Verëffentlecht: 02.03.2024

The seven-hour bus ride to Ho Chi Minh, including the new entry into Vietnam, was relaxed. It takes a bit of trust to just give away your passport, but it worked 😂 In Ho Chi Minh we take a Grab taxi to the apartment for 1 (yes, really one!) euro. That turns out to be a stroke of luck, great location, 16 floors with a view of the skyline. Just like in all Asian cities, scooters 🛵 are the main means of transport. And there is a party street for the tourists, loud and flashy. Otherwise, the city doesn't have that many highlights to offer. For us, normal life is highlight enough. Getting coffee and Banh Mi for breakfast in the morning is awesome 🤩 and on this occasion: there is a real self-made garbage problem here. Even coffee, soup and of course all food are packaged in plastic and the drinks are poured from the plastic bottle into a plastic cup with ice 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

The first findings after exactly 4 weeks, i.e. 1/3 of our expedition:

A smile opens all doors for you. 38 degrees Celsius is really tiring and you need a break every now and then! Without self-confidence and a large portion of tolerance and respect, you can't get anywhere. Trust, even towards strangers, is essential. You can also communicate without words.

We are doing incredibly well at home and need more positive energy! With this in mind: tomorrow we are going to the Mekong Delta and are really looking forward to it!
