Hoi An - the most beautiful city

Verëffentlecht: 24.04.2019

The most beautiful city we have visited so far on our trip is Hoi An, and we don't think we will see a more beautiful city. We had heard and read so much about it that we wanted to stay longer from the beginning.

With some minor difficulties starting in Huê, Jeff had to push the minivan a little to get it started 😃 in this 9-seater we drove around like crazy 🤪 (in a pleasant 40 degrees).

Speaking of starting difficulties: as soon as we arrived at the accommodation, Jeff dropped his phone on the tiles and smashed the screen. The next day it was repaired within 15 minutes 🤩

Because of the heat, we booked a hotel with a pool 🏊‍♀️

But now to Hoi An ❤️ The city is beautiful in many ways: first, there are the old houses of the city...

... and then there are the even friendlier residents. To avoid misunderstandings - we have always dealt with friendly Vietnamese people 🥰🇻🇳 but in Hoi An they were even more accommodating.

Countless lamps and lanterns decorate the city...

Furthermore, Hoi An is known for having the best tailors in the country.

Coline immediately had a dress 👗 custom made. Jeff, on the other hand, just thought about getting a shirt 🤪

To see the many sights, the city has come up with something: pay admission once and you can visit five places. This way you can see some of the old houses from the inside, temples, pagodas, assembly halls, and bridges.

Another cultural must-visit was the water puppet theater. Initially looking a bit bizarre, we really liked it.

We wanted to relax at An Bang beach. We happily rode our bikes to the beach 🏝 and had a relaxing day with Frederic, who will now appear as Ede here on out.
However, we got the worst sunburn and looked like 🦀

We walked through the streets with Ede in the evenings and found some delicious treats...

Ah Hoi An, you have enchanted us. We would have liked to stay longer 🥰
