Today, the weather has cooled down a bit in the morning, after raining during the night.
After breakfast, we drive to Seashore National Park to pay the required $20 for a day at the beach. After a long beach walk, we have found a quiet zone away from the Sunday beach crowd with children and dogs and settle down there.
If we thought before: Well, today won't be a special day, we were mistaken. From the beach, we could see humpback whales about 500 meters away, as they surface, spout water, and jump vertically out of the sea and clap into the water... Simply unbelievable... and we didn't have a camera or binoculars with us... because we didn't expect that. There were also seals further ahead near the beach. - A taste of our whale-watching tour tomorrow...
Although the water wasn't really warm, Thorsten dared to swim in the sea. He wanted to swim with whales and seals, so to speak... even though at least a few hundred meters separated him from the whales... :)
The incoming tide made us leave the narrowing beach a bit earlier than planned... But after four to five hours, it was enough for the first intense contact with the sun. We definitely got some color.
Usual procedure afterwards: shopping, strolling through the main street again, and then dinner at home.
Instead of the Sandman, there is the obligatory TV enjoyment with HGTV - Fixer Upper ... with planter peanuts and a can of beer...
