23. Tag - day 23 (scroll down for english)

Ausschlafen!! Wie schön. Das heisst, ich hatte den Wecker auf 6 Uhr gestellt um den Sonnenaufgang zu bewundern. Guter Vorsatz - nicht ganz ausgeführt... ;-) Ich sagte mir um 8 Uhr tuts auch - und so war es. Das Licht zeigte nochmals die Hoodos in ihrer ganzen Schönheit. Zoë lag noch in ihrem Tiefenschlaf und so spazierte ich ein bisschen durch die Gegend und genoss die Ruhe des Tages. Um 11 Uhr brachen wir endlich auf in Richtung Lake Powel - Page. Wir durchquerten den red Canyon nochmals - mit den spektakulären roten Felsformationen und dann weiter nach Süden durch sehr schöne Landschaften mit links und rechts verführerische Canyons für die sich eine eigene Reise lohnen würde! Unser Ziel war der berühmte Horeshoe bend durch den der Colorado River zieht, ein bisschen südlich von Lake Powel und Page.
Auch da ist es schwer die Schönheit in einem Foto aufzufangen. Die Stimmung war ruhig und respektvoll. Im Hintergrund donnerte es und man konne den Monsoon sehen. Eine schönes tiefes Erlebnis. Danach gings zum Hotel. Als ob ich es von vielen Monaten wusste, aber das Hotel war genau das was unsere geschundenen Körper brauchten. Swimmingpool, Wirlpool, leicht bedeckt und angenehmes Lüftchen. Himmlisch! Am Abend gings zum "Fiesta Mexicana" mit überdimensionalen Portionen :-) Mit so gefüllten Bäuchen werden wir wie im 7. Himmel schlafen - bestimmt!

Sleep-in!! How great! Well - i did set the alarm to 6am to admire the sunrise. Good intention but - did not quite live up to it ;-) I thought at 8am it would be just as beautiful and so it was. The lights showed the Hoodos once again in their full beauty. Zoë was still fast asleep and so I walked a bit around and enjoyed the calmness of the day. At 11am we then finally took off towards Lake Powel and Page. We passed by the red canyon again with its spectacular red rock formation and then further southwards passed by beautiful landscape with left and right tempting Canyons, which would have been worth while a trip on its own! Our target was the famous horse shoe bend with the Colorado river a little south of lake Powel and Page. And also here it is rather impossible to capture the beauty in a picture. The atmosphere was quiet and respectful. In the back we could hear the thunder and could see the Monsoon. A beautifully deep experience. Thereafter we headed to the Hotel. As if I knew it so many months ago, but the hotel was just perfect for our batthered bodies. Swimming pool, whirlpool, a bit cloudy and a pleasant breeze... Heaven! For dinner we went to "Fiesta Mexicana" with over dimensional sizes :-) With such stuffed belly's we will surly sleep like in heaven - surly! thanks
