The last day in Thailand

Published: 30.03.2023

Day 22 (29.03.2023

For the last day in Thailand, we had booked a day trip. We were picked up from our hostel by a van at 8 o'clock. Two-thirds of the participants were Germans, so it quickly felt like a school trip. Luckily, everyone was pretty cool and we got along right away.

The first destination of the trip was the Bamboo Elephant Family Care, where the elephants could move around freely. There, we saw these impressive animals up close for the first time and were able to feed and wash them. In addition, we learned a lot about the life of the elephants there.

The second part of the trip was a hike through the hilly forest landscape to a hidden waterfall. The area was impressive and we were able to refresh ourselves at the waterfall.

The third and final part of the trip was white water rafting. We went on a small river through several whitewater passages in a raft. We were also able to admire a lot of the breathtaking landscape during this activity. Somewhat concerning was the fact that part of the forests had caught fire. What seemed very dangerous at first glance, however, was completely normal in this area and well-known among the locals.

Finally, we returned to Chiang Mai by van. We had a snack and mentally prepared ourselves for the imminent farewell to Thailand.
