Today the morning is at our leisure, and we stroll through Swakopmund after breakfast.
In the afternoon we have booked a catamaran trip and are very excited about what awaits us.
Upon arriving on the boat, we are met by surprising guests: Lady Gaga and Captain Morgan.
As our first activity, we get an insight into the local oyster farming, a labor-intensive but profitable business.
Next, we head to Pelican Point in Walvis Bay, where thousands of seals frolic on the sandbank and multiply so rapidly that 10,000 animals are released for culling each year.
With a lot of patience, we wait for dolphins to appear. And indeed, two dolphins accompany our boat for a while.
Some claim to have seen a whale, but unfortunately, I am not among them.
In the midst of this maritime nature, an oil rig rises. The discovery and exploitation of oil fields off the Namibian coast only happened a few years ago.
We are asked to move to the protected area of the boat, and it is laid out: oysters and sparkling wine.
For me, as the only vegetarian, there is an extra portion - very thoughtful!
At the end of the trip, Bobby jumps onto the boat and doesn't want to get off.
After three hours of waves, we leave the boat frozen but very satisfied.
