Tag 7 – Welcome to Revelstoke

Another car trip is planned today, so we don't get up until after 8 a.m. After we did the laundry last night, we have to fold the laundry and pack everything this morning.

Oh yes, our raclette with the Canadian cheese was quite passable. The final dessert with ice cream and cream was worse, because the ice cream was rather watery. By the way, we whipped the cream with a hand blender, that works too;-)

At 10:00 a.m. we say goodbye to Cathy and head towards Revelstoke. In Rossland the sun shines at a good 7° degrees and the sky is almost cloudless, but the sky soon darkens and we drive into thick wafts of fog. Sometimes it rains heavily. At 1:30pm we arrive in Galena Bay and take the ferry to Shelter Bay. The ascent and descent to the ferry is quite steep, good brakes are required otherwise you drive straight into the water.

There is a little more snow on the other side of the lake and the middle of the road is covered with snow or mud. At 3:00 p.m. we are in Revelstoke, check into the Hotel Hillcrest and straight into heliskiing so that everything is ready for tomorrow. By the way, the road to Golden (our next stop on Sunday evening) is closed due to all the news. Then it's off to the village itself, where there's pizza for dinner. The salad they ordered as a starter is forgotten because they are so stressed out. It's on the bill for that, but we didn't pay for it;-)

Now we're already tired again and go to sleep, tomorrow we'll go up to the summit with the heli and down again on skis. We like to dream of powder slopes and rotor noise, good night.
