Sunshine Coast☀️😎

Published: 16.06.2020

This morning I got up extra early to make the most of the day. After a one-hour train ride🚃 along the coast to the north, I arrived at the Glass House Mountains⛰, a national park with several wooded "mountains". The name is attributed to James Cook. When he mapped the east coast of Australia🗺 in the 18th century, the mountain formations reminded him of blast furnaces from his home.

My goal was to climb Mount Beerburrum. Although the trail to the summit was not very far, it was very steep🥾. The view was fantastic! From the summit, you have a beautiful view of the Glass House Mountains, and you can even see the skyline of Brisbane to the south.

After that, I continued by train and bus to the sea, where I made a stop in a town called "Caloundra". The coastal town is known for its beach promenade with cafés☕️, restaurants🍽, and art galleries🖼. I especially enjoyed the walk along the beach, where I met many people surfing. After a picnic🥪, I took the bus to Noosa Heads.

This is where I will be staying for the next three nights. Noosa has been highly recommended to me by many people. The national park🌿 right by the ocean is wonderful, the sandy beaches are fabulous, and the town, with its restaurants, cafés, and small shops, is definitely worth a visit.

Very tired from the previous day, I arrived at my backpacker🧳in the evening. I am sharing a room with two travelers from Germany🇩🇪. They have been in Australia for several weeks as well. We quickly got to know each other and then went out for a delicious Mexican dinner.🌮
