In the early morning around 5 o'clock, we were transferred from the night train to a bus. Unfortunately, the bus had a technical problem, so we had to change buses again.
After arriving in Stavanger, we first orientated ourselves and found out about the buses that were going to Odda.
Once we had fixed the travel times, we started exploring the city. There was a beautiful park with fountains and statues right in front of the train station.
We continued to the old town of Stavanger. Typical Norwegian houses, Norwegian flags, and lots and lots of flowers.
We even found a small idyllic table where we enjoyed our breakfast.
Afterwards, we went to the concert hall and then back to the main square. From there, we went to the Valberg Tower, which is actually nothing special but represents the highest point of the city.
On the way back to the train station, we passed the rather small and not very impressive cathedral.
After half an hour on the first of 3 buses to Odda, we learned that this bus also had a technical problem. Shortly after, a replacement bus arrived and we continued our journey.
We took a ferry on the shortest route to our destination! We consciously saw the fjords for the first time and couldn't stop enjoying it!
Due to the delay, we missed our connecting bus and had to wait for 4 hours in a tiny village. We bought food there for the next few days and played several rounds of card games.
With the next buses, we went across the country. We saw water coming out of the mountains everywhere, lakes so clear, and of course flowers, trees, everything that nature has to offer!
Happy from this experience, we cooked our dinner and are now going to sleep. Tomorrow it's finally time for the Trolltunga hike!
(Side fact: 10.5, 6-hour bus ride)
