After a journey of almost five hours, b> including breaks, we arrived at Camping de Villey-le-Sec, about 20 kilometers from Nancy. A picturesque spot right on the Moselle River. And the pitch with a view of the slow flowing river is not bad either! p>
The fact that the Moselle flows so slowly is due to the lock gates around Nancy. So it's more like an elongated reservoir than a river. It's always a sight with the forest all around. Especially with the mist over the water in the early morning. We will visit the lock gates the next day. And play the first game of Pétanque. p>
You only notice that there is a French Air Force base not far away when the Rafales thunder over the idyll. But luckily it is loud, but it is over after a few minutes. After that, you can enjoy the silence even more. And hear the swans pass by in the evening. p>
One thing you can't see in the pictures is the still high heat: during the day, the mercury climbs to over 35°. Where otherwise green lawn would be seen, now everything is dry yellowish brown. p>
