Quaint Uruguay

Published: 11.10.2017

After flying from Porto Alegre to Montevideo, we had the pleasure of staying with the lively and lovely Anabel. On the first evening, we were able to experience an authentic Candombe rehearsal: hot men and women drumming and dancing through the streets. Montevideo's Old Town also impressed us with its small-town charm. La Paloma was our next stop, where we cycled along the curved sand dunes and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. In Cabo de Polonia, we spent two nice days observing seals in complete seclusion. We then celebrated Marina's birthday in Sacramento de Colonia, whose colonial old town and location on the Rio de la Plata immediately appealed to us. A wine tasting and a stroll along the promenade rounded off our stay in Uruguay.
