The capital!

After the second largest, we also did not stop at the largest city in Norway - Oslo!

After initial concerns regarding the weather, we were lucky again 🍀 and had about 26 degrees with ☀️. On other blogs I have read about 8 days of continuous rain in Norway vacations, so we got off very well with our day of rain and a bit of cloudiness!

Actually not surprising, as the plates are always cleaned and licked at our place! (Trick 17 so we don't have to wash dishes all the time😜)

We quickly noticed that we chose a Sunday as Oslo Day. All shops bolted and closed. The receipt for our lack of planning usually comes faster than expected... But yes, the weekdays are not soooo familiar to us since we no longer work.

But it wasn't that bad, we parked for free all day! In Oslo! In the center! Where underground parking costs 8.— / hour 😅

Oslo was great! Not such a tourist imitation like Bergen but really down-to-earth Norwegian. Many cozy small shops, pubs and restaurants are closely lined up. Accompanied by the shrieking of seagulls and in sweltering heat we explored the city. Some stores have set up small water containers in front of the doors so that the dogs can drink in the heat. 🐕

Directly by the water is a very modern district with many industrial-style buildings next to an old fortress and old harbor buildings.

In addition to many statues, Oslo has many museums, theaters, and a large opera to visit. The Viking Ship Museum with an authentic longboat, for example, is very well known. But our day visit was not enough for museums.

We were no longer surprised that there is a lot of healthy food as well as organic and vegan options, as the Norwegians are very environmentally conscious.

With your electric car, you can park everywhere at a discount, refuel for free, and pay less or no taxes. So it's not surprising that every second car is a Tesla!

Now we're already turning our back on Norway and heading "home" 😢. However, this time we're going via Sweden and not with the ferry. On the way, we also want to stop in Copenhagen and Hamburg. We will try to get used to crowds again the hard way. Singapore will certainly not be any better!
