The connecting flight to Puerto Montt was reached without any problems and two hours later we were in Puerto Montt. Many people warned us about this city, saying it was boring, dirty and not worth seeing. Our Airbnb landlady even picked us up from the airport, which was 20 km away, and drove us around her city. Unfortunately everything was closed because January 1st. was. We ended up stopping at a food truck and looking out to sea. After a beer or two we went to the accommodation. Aylin has on January 2nd. Birthday and so we wanted to celebrate with her. A few beers and Spanish settler rounds later, we were able to congratulate her. She wanted us to come on January 2nd too. celebrate with her because she had invited people to a party. But we declined and wanted to continue driving. Overall, the stay with Aylin was so warm and incredibly fun. Even though Aylin couldn't speak a word of English, we still managed to communicate well.
We took the bus to Castro - on the island of Chiloe and had to take the ferry across. Here we saw the first sea lions and penguins ❤️
When we arrived in Castro we first had to get cash - the hotels only accept cash payments to save taxes 😀
From here on we started cooking more ourselves. The prices everywhere - even for food - are really a disgrace. - a red pepper, for example, costs 2 euros...
Ciao freddy
