25.08.16: Last day in Fukuoka

Published: 25.08.2016

My first destination was the Nanzo-In Temple, about 30 minutes by train from Fukuoka. Besides an impressive temple complex located on the mountain and crossed by waterfalls, there was also a huge (!) reclining Buddha to admire.

Back in Fukuoka, I visited Maizuru Park, where the remains of Fukuoka Castle stand. From the ruins of the main tower, there was a wonderful view of the city.

In the nearby Ohori Park, you could take a leisurely walk around a lake. You could even walk on the lake because several small islands were connected by bridges. A very beautiful sight at sunset.

I ended the day in the onsen.
