Thanks to my little bus trip after the rainy day, it was only 4 km to Porto on my last day before it. I was very enthusiastic about the route. My feet were light and the sun was finally shining again. Faster then I thought I was already at the big bridge. In Porto, I wanted to reward myself for my journey so far. After all, I had already managed 400km on foot in 3 weeks. Almost 2/3 of the entire distance. And a few days of rest ahead of me before I set off on the last part.
So I went to a brunch restaurant and just had the Brunchmenu for 12€. I didn't quite know what I was ordering. First came a big glass of homemade lemonade and a glass of sparkling wine, then a big slice of brown bread with lots of avocado and two eggs and a plate with the biggest pancakes ever and Nutella. And a big cup of cappuchino. The food was super tasty, but I was already full after the bread. Still, I somehow managed to finish the pancakes and before I was completely done, more food came. Yoghurt with fruit and granola. I rolled out of the restaurant, but happy.
Since I can't just stop walking overnight, I went on two walking tours. Both were very good and informative. Apart from that, I walked around Porto a lot. I like the city. Even if no street is straight. There are many little things to discover and it is always good for a surprise. After the loneliness of the last few weeks, it was also very good to finally be among other young people again. I met great people in my hostel and had a great time with them. Going out to celebrate only at the night before the next Camino day might not have been the best idea. Luckily, the old tram took me the first 5 km out of town.
