'Those who lose dreaming are lost' ~ Aboriginal Australian saying

And Sydney is the city of dreams. Ahh how I missed this city.

So on Thursday evening, after a long car ride, we finally arrived in Sydney. Thanks to Timo's insider knowledge, we skillfully conquered a parking space and finally breathed in the mild, fresh Sydney dreamer air.

After checking into the hostel, we were drawn outside for a long night walk along Sydney's harbor, through 'the Rocks,' and finally through my dear Hyde Park, where we encountered a very friendly possum, and then back home.

On Friday, we went shopping first, and then off to Bondi Beach for a relaxing day at the beach—or so we thought. It wasn't quite as relaxing as we had imagined, as we both underestimated the cold sea breeze and found ourselves shivering after just an hour. So our mood quickly went from being highly motivated to arrive with "yeah, after this, we'll definitely go in the water" to "you better not move an inch away from me, it's freezing."

So our beach stay didn't last as long as we had originally planned. However, that gave us the opportunity to visit Anakonda. No, don't worry, not the snake 😉 they only exist in South America.

Anakonda is an outdoor store that offers everything for camping. Originally, we had considered buying a second battery with a solar panel so that we could operate a small cooler box and possibly charge our laptop and camera. However, we quickly dismissed this idea after visiting Anakonda because it was not financially justifiable.

In the evening, we went to Darling Harbour to party with Timo's former travel companions Valle and Jannis.

Saturday morning started slowly with cooking together (basa fillet, vegetable pan, and rice) and a walk over the Harbour Bridge, along the Opera House, and through the beautiful city center of Sydney, where we unfortunately, unsuccessfully, looked for a nice "Sydney hoodie" for Timo. In the evening, we met up with Valle, Jannis, and Jake to go out and party. This time, we also met two Dutch people at the hostel (and to my delight, one of them was a girl 😊) who also joined us.

Sunday meant getting up earlier for free pancakes at the hostel, and we actually got up only to realize that we had to make the pancakes ourselves. That was too much for us early in the morning after a long night, so we both went back to our beds.

When we finally got up, we headed refreshed towards Bondi Beach again, but this time to walk the coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee.

Very beautiful is all I can say hihii

In the evening, we finally wanted to redeem Timo's invitation to dinner from me and go to Pieno, a very nice restaurant in Surry Hills that we randomly discovered during one of our many strolls through the city. But of course, as fate would have it, Pieno is open until 10 p.m. every evening except Sundays, when it closes at 5. Naturally.

That somewhat dampened our enthusiasm, so we just stayed at the hostel and enjoyed some leftovers. Also, it was an early night anyhow because we have an early start to the Blue Mountains tomorrow.

See you soon

Love and Kisses XO
