Mate Museum & 'Everything for sale'

Published: 26.02.2018

I'm feeling better again!
Yippie ya yei Schweinebacke!!!

Of course, the opportunity was immediately used to explore the place a bit, as they had not been very active so far.

How could you be, when you're sick?

Our walk took us to the edge of town on a hill. We wanted to see the extent of some forest fires that had been talked about in town.

With the help of the camera, which turned out to be a good telescope, you could see dark, heavy smoke in the distance.

There was also a somewhat pungent smell in the air.

With a bit of luck, we found a small section of a river. Apparently not private property.

Jackpot!

It was so quiet and in the partly barren landscape, it felt like a little paradise.

We forgot about time and it was already half past 7.

But half past 7 is by no means too late for a churro or a pancake.

Especially when you pass by a churro bakery.

You can't imagine it...
A true heaven on earth!!!

I mean, we really eat healthy and hardly ever anything sweet. We didn't have any sweets at all.

But why stop when the evening is so nice.

Let's go to the Museo de Mate.
Our motto!

On the way accompanied by a great sunset, we discovered the small museum.
It turned out to be more of a shop with a huge selection of mate sets, but occasionally there were a few information boards as well.

Very impressive how little we knew about the national drink of the Argentinians...
For example, there is a mate language, through which secret messages can be exchanged.

It depends on how mate is drunk.
Sweet, very sweet, with coffee, with milk, etc...

For example, if you serve someone a very sweet mate, the secret message behind it is:

Talk to my parents!

Immediately afterwards, we visited a knife shop that 'sold the best knives in Argentina'.

We asked if everything here was for sale and the salesman replied, 'Everything you see here is for sale!'

And just as his sentence ended, a black cat jumped onto the counter and spread out. 😂

Well, that's the kind of story life writes!

Feeling a bit hungry again, we ended the day with empanadas (filled pastries) and beer.
If it's a day of indulgence, then do it right. 😊
