Our longest trip so far starts in June 2018. We're going to Canada for three weeks! More precisely, to British Columbia, where we will take a road trip with a rental car. Our route takes us from Vancouver to Vancouver Island, where we will visit Victoria, Tofino, and Parksville. Then from Whistler and Clearwater to the Rocky Mountains in the national parks of Jasper and Banff, as well as Yoho National Park. We will then return to Vancouver via Kamloops and Harrison Hot Springs. We have already booked all our accommodations from Germany, half of them through Air BnB and the other half through motels. We are very excited!
As it had to happen, our first accommodation in Vancouver, which we booked through Air BnB, canceled on us the day before our arrival. However, Air BnB was very helpful in assisting us in finding a new accommodation. Since there was no longer anything available for the price for which we had booked the accommodation months ago, we were issued a voucher worth 100 euros. Very nice :) So we found another suitable accommodation for which we didn't have to pay anything extra. In the end, there was even some of the voucher left, which we were allowed to keep for the next booking!
On June 1st, we finally started in the morning. Our 10-hour flight to Vancouver with Air Canada started at 10:30 a.m. Since we were already at the airport three hours before departure, everything went smoothly and much less stressful than on our last flight to Malta, where the airport was completely overcrowded. We took our seats and the almost fully booked flight took off. Along the way, there was a spectacular view out the window when we flew over Greenland. Ice and snow everywhere, miles and miles of white. I had never seen anything like it before! I couldn't stop marveling and would have loved to stare out the window the whole time. It was just amazing! The flight went without any incidents, and so we arrived safely but a bit exhausted after a 10-hour flight in Vancouver.
