Another highlight on the program today was Geiranger. We woke up as the ship made a stop in Hellesylt. Some excursionists got off there, and we used the time wisely by having breakfast.

After breakfast, we quickly went up to the deck to secure a good spot. We joined hundreds of other people on deck to enjoy the view. And then we continued towards Geiranger. It was actually just a short, but good hour-long stage from Hellesylt, but with many beautiful sights. It's not for nothing that everything here is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Countless waterfalls, including the famous seven sisters that are also visible today. Hundreds of meters high cliffs with almost every peak covered in snow, and of course the beautiful fjord.

Arriving in Geiranger, we anchored as the only pier was occupied by the Serenade of the Seas. That's why we had to take the tender boat. But it wasn't too bad, as the fjord was very calm and the crossing took less than 10 minutes. Geiranger itself is a small village, with about 200 inhabitants and around 6000 cruise ship passengers 🙄

We soon went to pick up our Twizy car from the rental agency. Since the weather was slowly improving, we took advantage of a good time window.

With a full battery, we were ready to go. We drove up a famous pass with a great view of the Geirangerfjord. Took many photos, admired the snow, and then headed in the other direction.

We drove through the village of Geiranger. Stopped at various waterfalls, Himmelsthron, and Stadttor. At the top, we even encountered a little snowstorm. Bettina got one or two flakes and didn't enjoy it as much. So we turned back soon. A few hundred meters further, the weather was much better. We had some nice photo stops and drove to a lonely farm.

Then it was time to return the car as the battery was already empty. We bought a few things from a shop and then had a nice meal by the fjord, in the sun.

The last tender ride was at four o'clock, so we headed back slowly. Everything was well organized and we easily returned to the ship.

We spent some more time on deck and in our cabin. Had dinner and then soon went to bed.
