Day 10: Cap Fréhel and Ploumanac'h

Published: 24.08.2021

Early in the morning, a strong wind blows, but we are brave and have breakfast outside as usual. Luckily, it's not raining. It could be warmer, but as long as it stays dry, we are satisfied. The drive to Cap Fréhel takes 45 minutes. Cap Fréhel consists of an impressive group of cliffs made of red sandstone, offering an equally overwhelming and unforgettable panorama from a height of 70 meters above the sea. We walk along the cliff path and admire the blooming heather, a unique nature reserve. In the distance, we see a castle on the cliffs. Even the sun shows itself. After about 1 hour, we finish our hike and get back in the car. Now the drive takes almost 2 hours and takes us to Ploumanac'h. In the small harbor town, the most bizarre granite colossi can be found, with names like "Hare" or "Devil's Castle". Before we go for a walk, we have lunch. Thanks to the gas stove, we can warm up some soup. Unfortunately, David doesn't want to walk at all. He makes a big fuss, screams, and gets angry. We only manage to go about 500 meters to the beach with the round rocks. So in the end, only Erik and I climb the rocks, while Rene and David stay back on the beach. It's too dangerous to carry David on Rene's shoulders. The rocks are uneven and partly slippery. The big stones are impressive and it's fun to jump up and down on them. After 20 minutes, we finish our climbing tour and return to the car. After a short while, we reach the campsite. The children play in the adjacent playground and argue with French children. The sea is just a few steps away and we once again observe the incoming tide on the long sandy beach.

David will nicht laufen. Das sind ja Neuigkeiten. Hier alles gut, ich fahre morgen mit Greta ins Schokoladenmuseum nach Hamburg. Verspätetes Geburtstagsgeschenk. Liebe Grüße
