3 nights in La Fortuna - almost always with a view of the Arenal Volcano, which last erupted in 2010, so not too long ago.
On the first day, we went hiking in a park near the volcano. Unfortunately, not the national park, we were approached in the morning while waiting at the bus stop by a guy who wanted to take us to a park nearby the national park for little money. Well, we didn't think much of it and the park itself was also very nice.
However, day 2 in La Fortuna was much more impressive. For once, we booked a tour that took us to Rio Celeste. Through chemical and/or physical processes (no idea 😂), an incredibly blue color is created. Additionally, in some places in the national park, it smells like rotten eggs and there are very hot springs. Our guide Marco was funny and we got along great with the other tour participants and had a drink together in the evening.
