To get to Arraial do Cabo, I had to choose a bus to Rio first and then switch there. Since I wasn't sure if I would be able to reach the mainland by boat in time and then make it to the bus station on time, I didn't book a bus beforehand.
Of course, I would have made it in time, but I had to wait two hours for the next bus because it was fully booked. In Rio, I bought a new ticket right away. There, I only had to wait 30 minutes for the bus to Arraial do Cabo. When I arrived in Arraial do Cabo, it was already dark, so I ordered an Uber to the hostel. At first, I didn't really know where to go because there was no reception and it wasn't a typical hostel, but someone quickly approached me and showed me the hostel.
The hostel was like a big family house. Everyone could come and go, use the kitchen & refrigerator, lie in the hammock, and relax by the pool. I spent four days at different beaches. I liked "Praia Grande" the best. A large, white sandy beach with plenty of space.
There was also a beautiful bay that I walked to, but people were packed there like sardines, which I didn't like so much.
On Saturday evening, we had a BBQ and cocktails.
Indeed, Brazil is simply 10 weeks of vacation at the beach. In the other countries, I did a lot of hiking, saw different landscapes and animals, and was constantly on the go. Here in Brazil, I hardly do anything other than lie lazily on the beach, read, and eat. So, it's the perfect end to my trip. 😄
