Willi - That's for you

Gua Musang. Why Gua Musang actually? Why doesn't the idiot just drive to the Rain Forest Resort where all the other tourists arrive who want to go to Taman Negara?

For one simple reason: In Gua Musang stops the Jungle Train, which not only took me through the jungle to the next destination, but also brought me the most emotional experience of my trip.

Not even noticed by most tourists, my deceased grandfather would have told me with sparkling eyes -if I had only whispered the word Malaysia- not only the year of construction, route and speed, but probably also the first names of the train conductors.

Next to the Trans-Siberian Railway (which my grandpa himself drove), the Jungle Train through Malaysia is an absolute highlight for every freak of this kind.

For this reason, I decided against a comfortable air-conditioned travel bus and for a 5.5-hour ride in a slow old train to Kota Bharu, which consists solely of 3rd class and the doors remain open during the journey, otherwise the heat is unbearable.

At exactly 15:55, with a honk, this wonderful train arrived at the inconspicuous train station in Gua Musang, and I was excited flavored with a pinch of goosebumps.

It was incredibly hot, the journey took forever, and I was the only tourist. But every view out of the window -until the sunset- was simply worth it.

I thank you for inspiring me to this unforgettable experience that I would have otherwise missed. I saved you a window seat.
