A completely “normal” day in the desert

Published: 16.11.2023

I don't sleep particularly well here. Everywhere I hear small and large creepy crawlies - which luckily aren't there. I have now sealed the lower door gaps with towels. Nature is welcome to stay outside!

At half past ten I set off for breakfast. I stick my nose out of the door to check how warm or hot it is - oh, that's still possible! I look at my cell phone - the weather app said 29 degrees, it should be 40 degrees today... If 29 degrees is still possible, then you really are in the desert 😀

What am I going to do with the day today? I don't dare walk any path in the desert alone. First go shopping at the supermarket. You can get everything there - at pretty reasonable prices, of course, with a 1.5L bottle of water costing just $4... Most of the paths here are covered with large tarpaulins or a plastic roof, the main thing being shade.

After shopping, I have an idea for the rest of my day: Christmas planning for the gospel night needs to be done and that takes a bit of time. So I sit down by the pool and write the schedule for the gospel night - in the shade at 38 degrees. Is there a Christmas spirit there? - No! But I will definitely remember it for a long time...
