We had heard that it is very picturesque, quiet and ideal for snorkeling here. We were not disappointed. A hundred meter long coral reef was directly accessible from the beach.
Heavenly... a cold beer at over 30 °C is on the way.
Our bungalow was just 10m to the left and you could hear the sea at night, if our fan didn't make so much noise. But still better than sweating all night 😊
Our bungalow was only accessible via a narrow jungle path, not over the shorter beach path, when the tide was high. Ignorant of how high the tide was after dinner, we ventured on the first evening over the beach. It was quite a funny sight, Martje almost undressed, illuminating the darkness with a headlamp and carrying her things over her head while wading through the chest-high water 😁.
Sunset Beach, unlike the spelling, they are not very creative in naming the beaches here, already the third beach with this name.
The waiters or cooks have an amazing short-term memory when it comes to the spiciness of the ordered dishes. Most of the chilies almost always end up in Martje's bowls, which she doesn't tolerate very well 😂. Whereas the desired (infamous Thai) spiciness of my dishes has never exceeded my limit. Maybe an indication of how much the local cuisine in tourist hotspots has submitted to Western tastes.
