Sevilla-lost in Paradise

28.2.22 Sevilla, Spain 23 o'clock

I woke up this morning with a view of sailboats, of course I was the first in the bathroom, then I made coffee on the bus and actually went back to bed until 9:30 am.

The Indian in Gibraltar was actually closed. But next door, same name, they were open. I ordered a pack of Lucky Strike for 27 pounds, paid with a 20-pound note and the rest, and left. He wasn't very happy, but business is business. He'll just sell the bill to the next tourist.

After that, I had a classic full English breakfast, including black pudding (blood sausage with clove flavor) and those incredibly shitty tasting sausages.

By the way, Gibraltar is free for a decent smoker. I got 4 packs of cigarettes from the remaining money. So a total of 14 packs of brand cigarettes. Price in Germany: 98 euros.

I exchanged 100 euros at the Indian and got the cigarettes, some pints, the awesome fish and chips, breakfast, and a few coffees. Good deal.

The parking space was on the Spanish side, 12 euros, and the bus started immediately. Went off the campsite after 190 km. It got warmer and warmer during the drive inland, and there were 26 degrees at the destination.

It's Monday, but today is Andalusia Day in Seville. Holiday, and everyone is out and about. It's only 10 minutes by bike from the campsite in an industrial area to the old town. Great atmosphere. A maze of narrow streets, small parks with fountains and benches again and again. I rarely saw such a young and lively city.

Seville is famous for its tapas. And I actually found the best place in town. Pure coincidence. But I have a knack for it. 3 portions: first, tenderly baked squid, the second was something with spinach, and then grilled beef with bell peppers, along with a glass of red wine and a bottle of mineral water. After that, a dry sherry in a well-filled white wine glass, and a mocha, all for 21 euros.

I would have never found my way back without maps. Now I'm sitting well protected among Dutch and English camper vans in the bushes, with electricity. And for the first time, the sliding door is still open at this time because it's still a comfortable 16 degrees.

Culture is on the agenda tomorrow morning in Seville, and then a quick lunch at Bar Estrella. Without sherry, or maybe a small one.

In the afternoon, I want to go 'home' to Praia da Luz. I should make it in time for the St. Pauli vs Berlin match.
