Sandgerdi - Grindavik swimming pool - kreuz und quer - street free Strandakirkja Camping

September 23rd, 2023: When we left in the morning the weather still looked relatively good, but it changed within a short time and it started to rain. By chance we passed the sundlaug (swimming pool) in Grindavik - and spent the whole afternoon in the hot pool again, with nice entertainment and a real (Finnish) sauna. We notice that every larger community has a swimming pool with a gym/fitness area and we really like them and offer a good opportunity to get to know locals or other tourists. We ignore the famous Blue Lagoon: entry only after prior reservation, already fully booked for over 2 days and very expensive... Afterwards we crossed the peninsula twice and were surprised at how beautiful and different nature appears here. We spend the night at Gata free camping, the name says it all (voluntary contribution in a box). In the evening we dedicate ourselves to our new reading: a Scottish crime novel (we originally wanted to be in Ireland/Scotland)
