Let's go into the gorge! After the white emperor city, we headed into the first of the three gorges, the Qutang Gorge. The green rock walls rise steeply on the left and right.

The peaks are enveloped in 'white smoke' that gave the emperor city its name.

Here and there you can see remnants of the settlement before the flooding.

The second excursion of the day was finally to show us the often described heroes of the river, the boat hauliers. We anchored in Baisilu and boarded a smaller ferry that then entered a tributary of the Yangtze River, for.
