First days of our route trip

Жарыяланган: 08.03.2018

The first night in the car was unexpectedly cold. It cooled down so much at night that we had to bundle up to stay warm. We got back on the road relatively early. Our first destination was the Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve. The navigation led us in circles before we found it. There were different hiking trails there, and we walked two of them while looking out for koalas and kangaroos. We spotted some sleeping koalas high up in the eucalyptus trees.

After a short food break, we drove all afternoon towards Adelaide, where we stopped at Meningie on Lake Albert and slept right by the lake.

The next morning, we were woken up by the sun and drove into Adelaide. Finding a parking space was a bit challenging because you could only park briefly everywhere, and a parking ticket costs about 200 dollars. So we parked at a supermarket parking lot and walked into the city. We didn't find the city very beautiful or exciting, and there wasn't much to see. In the afternoon, we continued driving towards Parham, where our campsite was right on the beach.

Today, we set off early towards the Outback. We got some important things and then drove straight for 4 hours through partly barren landscapes. There were roadside signs warning that kangaroos, cows, or other animals might cross the road. We saw many dead animals by the roadside, including dead cows. We arrived at our "campsite" relatively early, which was more of a gas station parking lot.
